5 advance to Regionals

The individual portion of the season began yesterday when the Eagles were at Grand Haven for the individual district. Five of the fourteen wrestlers advanced to next weekends regional at Lansing Everett.

2nd at Team Districts

The eagles defeated Grandville by 12 points to advance to the district final against Jenison. In the final match, the eagles came up short against Jenison, finishing 2nd as a team.

Eagles finish 5th in the OK RED

The Eagles finished the regular season in 5th, having beat Grandville and West Ottawa. Having finished in seventh at the conference tournament, the Eagles ended up in a three way tie for fifth in the conference with Grandville and West Ottawa.

The Varsity Wrestling team finished 7th at the tournament. Placing for the Eagles were: Justin Zimmerman (1st), Jared Zimmerman (2nd), Drew Jackson (2nd), Jake Dean (4th), Zac Plowman (4th) and Marcos Diaz (4th).

West Ottawa Dual

The Varsity team put together their most complete dual of the season with a 47-18 victory over West Ottawa. Winning their matches were: Paul Carbone, Nate Miedema, Drew Jackson, Weston Kelke, Pat Byars, Jared Zimmerman, Marcos Diaz, Caleb Schutter, Justin Zimmerman and Jake Dean

Hastings Varsity Duals

The Varsity wrestling team wrestled well again on Saturday finishing in third place out of ten teams with a 4 and 1 record. The Eagles lost to Fowlerville 24-51. They beat Three Rivers 54-16, East Grand Rapids 66-6, Hastings B (77-6) and South Haven (58-10). Going 5-0 for the eagles were: Jared Zimmerman, Justin Zimmerman, and Jake Dean. Finishing at 4-1 were: Pat Byars, Marcos Diaz, Caleb Schutter, Nate Hop, Paul Carbone, Zac Plowman, and Drew Jackson. Finishing with 3 wins were: Nate Miedema, Jordan Koster, and Caleb Henderson.
